It is great to see non-disclosure becoming less and less of an issue. It is shown here in the numbers Bright Grey announced for their critical illness claims, 93% of claims were covered last year, with only 2% of claims declined for non-disclosure.
Claimants ranged from as young as 24 years old, the average age of men and women claiments were similar at age forty two and forty one respectively. The average pay out for a claim was just shy of £80,000 and it was interesting to see 75% of the claims made were made for cancer.
Roger Edwards at Bright Grey says, “It is very pleasing to see such a high claims paid figure. Our claims data tells only part of the story and it is really important we continue to differentiate ourselves by providing the best experience at the point of claim. It is a traumatic time and a time when we are needed most.”
A vital element of Bright Grey’s policy is the Helping Hand service, nurses from RED ARC contact the individual at the time of claim and offer them a helping heand throughout the claim process and beyond. Bright Grey are one of the many providers we consider when reviewing your options for a policy, we are a whole of market insurance broker and thus consider all the market leading insurers when quoting.
